The life expectancy of equipment depends on many factors and the most important one are materials used to fabricate them. The report introduces some copper alloys and aluminum alloys with high mechanical properties that have been often utilised to fabricate mining equipment. It also refers to fundamental bases for selecting materials as. well as factors impacting on material quality such as chemical composition of materials, casting and metallurgial technologies.
