Hội thảo kích thích tính kháng bệnh lưu dẫn trên lúa. Cần Thơ, 2004 Studies on application of systemic acquired resistance (SAR) agents to manage rice blast disease (Pyricularia grisea) on farmers' field at An Giang province
An experiment on application of systemic acquired resistance (SAR) agents was carried out in farmers' field at Thoai Son district, An Giang province, on winter-summer rice season of 2003-2004. The experiment was set up with 3 replications and 10 treatments. Among the treatments, copper chloride 0.05 mM and oxalic acid 0.5 mM were used as SAR agents against rice blast disease and applied by seed soaking only, seed soaking then leaf spraying at 25 days after sowing, with and without node blast prevented by Fthalide spraying at 55 and 65 (das). There were four control treatments: (i) no fungicide and no SAR; (ii) no SAR and completely disease prevented by four fungicide sprays at 25, 40, 55 and 65 (das); (iii) no SAR and two fungicide sprays at 25 and 40 (das) to prevent leaf blast only and (iv) no SAR and two fungicide sprays at 55 and 65 (das) to prevent node blast only. The results shown that copper chloride and oxalic acid had good effect to control leaf blast and had mild effect to node blast disease. The grain yield of the treatments was increased, too. The results also shown that leaf spraying with SAR agents at 25 (das) was necessary to increase the effect of SAR against rice blast disease by seed soaking. The application of SAR agent by seed soaking and leaf spraying at 25 (das) has same effect of two fungicide sprays at 25 and 40 (das) to prevent leaf blast disease.
