Malaysia is the country where a lot of Vietnamese laborers are imported. In
order to help laborers understand the culture of working place, the author introduced
family customs and behavior of the Malay- Muslim followers, the main population of
Malaysia.

Costumes of the Pa Di in Lao Cai province

Pa Di people belong to the Tay nation residing at Muong Khuong district, Lao Cai province. The article prescribes the process of costume production from cotton growing spinning, weaving and tailoring. When looking at Pa Di's costumes, the author closely looked at female costumes especially at hats, turbans, blouses, skirts, aprons and shoes. Besides, male's and children's costumes have also been mentioned. At present, Pa Di men tend to dress like the Kinh only women maintain their traditional costumes.

Relationship between Cao Lan and San Chi local ethnic groups in terms of language

The article looks at language relationship between two
local ethnic groups Cao Lan and San Chi ( belong to San Chay ethnic minority). Before
and after immigrating into Vietnam, they were bi-lingual community; using both
Northern Choang and Hart language but starting division into two parts of nation,
each had different behavior towards Northern Choang and Han language. The first part
of nation still held Northern Choang as the first language, Han language as the
second one but less use and gradually forgotten. The second part of nation took the
Han language as the first one and Northern Choang as the second one, less use and
forgotten at later generations. This is the cause that created language difference
between two groups Cao Lan and San Chi.

Returning to ethnic classification of two local ethnic groups Cao Lan and San Chi

Cao Lan and San Chi are two local ethnic groups of San Chay (Cao
Lan - San Chi) ethnic minority. There are differences between these two groups according to their language, culture and awareness, therefore, it is not satisfactory to classify them into San Chay ethnic group (Cao Lan-San Chi) as announced in 1979 on the ethnic classification list of Vietnam. According to the author, Cao Lan and San Chi should be separated into two different ethnic minorities by competent authorities.

Role of Thai women in creating and preserving ethnic cultural value

In Thai society, women have been contributing to creation,
preservation and enhancement of traditional cultural values. The article states on their
role in production, social cultural life and spiritual culture. In order to preserve and
enhance such traditional cultural value, efforts should be made to improve Thai
women's creativeness.

Some traditional handicrafts of Tho people

Tho people have settled down for a long time in the west of Thanh Hoa and Nghe An provinces. In traditional society, there existed a lot of special handicrafts such as knitting and weaving household utensils. Such products not only met the requirements of family use
but also preserved their cultural symbols. In the face of teriorated handicrafts nowadays, the author proposed that the Government should issue policies to help Tho people restore and develop their traditional handicrafts.

Sub-cultural regin of Nghe area

Nghe area belongs to Nghe An and Ha Tinh provinces, where people resettled in early. Nature and history have created men with special characteristics different from other regions. The local people are very hard working, and thrifty, fearless, clever...A lot of spiritual cultural value was preserved at this region such as specific folksong (Dam and Vi songs), story telling, indigenous knowledge and traditional festivals.
