Clay mineral and quantity/intensity relationship of potassium in Thua Thien Hue coastal sandy soils
-
Clay mineral is an important element to determine fertility of soil base on their composition. In sandy soils of Thua Thien Hue, the minerals are dominated by kaolinite, illite and some others belong to mineral 2:1. This is a type of poverty soil and is more affirmed about that by the physic-chemical characteristics analysis. Quantity/Intensity isotherm of potassium from their relationship was conducted according to Beckett for buffering capacity of potassium can be used for calculating the potassium rate for crops in studied soils. The relationship of quantity/intensity of potassium in sandy soil in Thua Thien Hue is so significant, thus the relationship of potassium absorption in soil and potassium addition to soil is significant also....

Contaminants in water and soil of Tay Tuu commune, Tu Liem district, Hanoi city
-
The conversion of agricultural structure from rice to flower produce, in one hand, it was a big step forward in Tay Tuu commune, Tu Liem district. On the other hand, using pesticides and fertilizers in big amount caused pollution in water and soil. The results of this study show that, concentration of Cd in water and soil exceeded Vietnam standard and content of Hg is about permissible level. The main resources are phosphorus fertilizers, chicken excrement and pesticides. In comparison with rice producing 10 years ago, the contents of several heavy metal such as Cu, Pb, Cd, Zn, As, Hg in canal water raised from 2 to 26 times. Base on the results, some recommendations had been made in order to mitigate environmental pollution for sustainable development in Tay Tuu commune, Tu Liem district.

Effect of some physic-chemical characteristics of soil on earthworms at Tam Dao National park, Vinh Phuc province
-
This paper presents the results of the effects of a number of soil characteristics on earthworms at Tam Dao National Park in October 2005. Earthworms and soil samples were collected in different biotops of natural and cultivated lands. The results showed that 38 earthworm species belonging to 5 genera, 4 families were found in this area. Among these genera, Pheretima was the dominant genus with the highest number of species (34 species). Especially, Pheretima xuongmontis was firstly recorded in Vietnam. The results also include a variety of soil characteristics (structures, acidity, organic matter, N, P, K contents) in different biotops. Based on the results, this study showed the significant effects of soil characteristics on the composition and the distribution of earthworms in the studied habitats.

Effects of organic fertilizer composted by solid waste and agricultural waste on the growth and productivity of the beans Tu quy N°l planted on sandy-loam soil of Quang Binh province
-
Organic fertilizers composted by solid waste and agricultural waste was fertilized to China beans Tu quy No. 1 in Quang Binh province in spring season 2006. The initial results of field experiment have shown that these organic fertilizers influence on the time of bean flower bloom and on the duration of the bean-harvesting relative clearly (the harvesting duration is 9 days longer in comparison with the control plot). The bean productivity of the plot with organic fertilizer is higher. (it is increased from 10.67 to 11.73 ton/ha, higher than control plot from 0.65 to 1.71 ton/ha), especially the economical effective of the beans on the plot with organic fertilizers is higher (total in come - 52.758 VND/ha; profit is from 19 to 20.500 VND/ha. The investment effective of the beans is from 1.97 to 2.06 time more.

Influence of water holding bioproduct Lipomycin M on some chemical properties of hill soil in Me Linh, Vinh Phuc
-
Lipomycin M is a water holding bioproduct. It is safe for soil ecosystem and able to improve some soil physical properties. This article focuses on the ability of Lipomycin M to improve some soil chemical properties. The results show that pH of experimental lots after application of Lipomycin M has slightly increased. Depends on formulars of fertilization Lipomycin M, dissolved N increased from 7.28% to 14.18%, P2O5 increased from 1.89% to 14.36%, humus increased from 7.07% to 15.49% and CEC increased from 11.99% to 68.15%.

Land use planning in Ba Be district, Bac Can province 2005 - 2010
-
Ba Be is a district of Bac Can province in the North region of Vietnam. The district is rich in land resource and area of natural forest covered most of total area. According to statistical book in 2005, used land area is 56,004.41 ha (80.84%) and the unused land area is 13,106.59 ha (19.16%) Even though, its economic and infrastructure conditions are still poor, population density is 68 persons/km2 with more than 97 % of them belong to ethnic minority groups. Up to 2010, of the total natural area 68,421 ha, agriculture land area will be 61,228.88 ha (89.50%) increasing 8001.55 ha compare to 2005; non-agriculture land area will be 2,398.32 ha (3.51%) increasing 320.24 ha; abundant land area will 4,784.80 ha (6.99%), reducing 8,321.79 ha compare to 2005.

Status and measures for improving the quality of land use planning
-
Vietnamese legal system determines that land resource is regulated and distributed by law and planning. Land use planning is one of the very important issues of government land management. During the period of 1993-2003 land use planning at different levels has been implemented nation-wide with many successes, but at the same time exposing a number of unsolved problems. This report presents some results on the evaluation of the current situation and proposes some measures for improving the quality of land use planning for the present period.

The calcisols in Ha Lang district, Cao Bang province
-
Calcisols in Vietnam occupying 5,527 hectares of land area, occur in Cao Bang, Ha Giang and Son La provinces. In Ha Lang district, Cao Bang province, Calcisols covering of 1,518.3 hectares, 3.25% of total natural area of the district. These soils are developed on weathering products of limestone, occurring in valley of limestones mountains. The studied results show that there are 3 soil units and 15 soil subunits of major soil group Calcisols in Ha Lang district. Calcisols in this area are relatively fertile soils. Chemical depletion of soils as evidenced by high pH (> 7.0), Exchange Capacity (CEC > 60 meq/100g clay), low in available plant nutrients. Attention to be paid on losing of nitrogen caused by high content of CaCO3 in the soils.

The sodium adsorption ability of saline soils in the coastal area of the Red River Delta
-
Salt-effected soil has been considered and studied under the agricultural and environmental viewpoints. In the coastal area, the salt-effected soil is always influenced by salinity intrusion in the dry season. Embankment system, irrigation drainage system and other activities have been applied to decrease the salinity influence. This study has clarified the salinitization characteristic of the saline soil in Nam Dinh province. Furthermore, the relation between clay ratio and sodium adsorption ability has been found. Soil that has a high clay ratio may have high sodium adsorption ability, then has a high salinitization ability.
