Some compounds of Daucus carota L.
-
The essential oil from leaf of Dacus carota L. growing in Vinh Phuc was analyzed by combination of high resolution GC-MS. The major compounds are beta-caryophylene (16,61%), apinene (8,6%), germacrene (7,88%) and mircene (7,39%). The content of beta-carotene, carbohydrate, reducible carbohydrate, vitamine C in rootstall was determined.

Study on acetylating reaction of the hydroxyl group of curcumin
-
The extraction of curcumin - a crucial ingredient of the turmeric - and its application have been studied by the word-wide scientists with noticeable result. However, there are too few studies on the transformational reaction of the Curcumin's chemically substitutional groups. This article presents some results of the transformation reaction of the - OH group of curcumin compound with acetyl acetic chloride and acetic anhydride. The transformation reaction is the most efficient when acetyl chloride agent is used at the temperature of 35°C in approximately one hour and a half.

Study on structure and composition of Ni-P electroless deposition in the hypophosphite solution
-
Structure, surface topography and surface composition of NiP electroless deposition from the hypophosphite solution were studied using cross-section optical microscope, atomic force microscopy (AFM) and X-ray Photoelectron Microscope (XPS). Results show that the deposited NiP layer has a fine crystalline structure and the hydrogen pits do not appear on the deposit surface. The obtained electroless deposited layer is a mixture of different NixPy compounds, Ni and P elements with the phosphorus total amount of 12-14%. The good corrosion protection property and the high hardness of the electroless NiP layer are resulted by the fine crystalinne . structure and the formation of different NixPy compounds.

The essential ether extracts from the seeds of carica papaya L. and applied in taxonomy
-
The composition ofthe petroleum ether extracts from the seeds of Carica papaya L. (Caricaceae) have been investigated with CGC. Identification of the substances was made by comparison of retention
indices with literature records. Some compounds from the seeds of two of Carica papaya L. (Caricaceae) species in which their shapes of fruit are small long (note A) and big round (note B) were identified. It shows that, both of them contain 9-octadecenoic acid while benzyl isothiocyanate (BITC) and hexadecanoic acid were not observed in A. Benzyl isothiocyanate can be used as an indicator in
taxomy of A and B. The seeds of Carica papaya L. were collected in the period of the ripe fruit

The implementation of TQM in the Vietnam chemical industry: Key barriers and proposed framework
-
The paper aims to review the major issues of TQM implementation in Vietnamese chemical industry. By examining five Vietnamese chemical companies, five critical factors impacting on the success of implementing TQM are identified. Also, eight barriers to TQM implementation in the Vietnamese chemical industry are found. The proposed framework would help the Vietnamese chemical companies to establish a foundation for TQM programs and ensure continuous improvements.
