Two hundred seeds of ten provenances, each contained 10 mother trees, of Erythrophloeum fordid Olivo have been collected for establishment of conservation stand in Cau Hai, Phu Tho province. After 5 years the growth potential of the provenances and families was promising with mean annual increment of about 1 cm per year for diameter and 0.8 cm per year for height. The difference in growth between families was significant (F pr < 0.001). Five families ranked first in both diameter and height are BT6, QN5, HB3, TH7 and TD11.
